Human Needs
First Christian Church sponsors a "Feeding the Homeless Ministry" the second Sunday of every month. As part of our outreach in the community, we have a "Picnic in the Park" that provides a hot meal including an entree, salad, rolls, fruit, water, coffee and desert to between 25 and 50 people at North Hollywood Park. We also have a special meal at Thanksgiving and Christmas that includes all the holiday fare. During the year, we offer blankets, clothing, flashlights and other items that have been donated by our members and friends. Anyone interested in participating in this ministry may contact the chairperson Deborah Luster at, diluster@yahoo.com.

Operation Santa Claus
Each Christmas, volunteers from the FCCNH family donate toys, health kits, cookies, candies and various other gift items for children of families in the area served by the Interfaith Food Pantry. Our own Santa Claus welcomes the children who receive the gifts. All are welcome to join in the fellowship and experience the joy of seeing the eyes and hearts of the children light up.

If you would like to help, please send a donation or bring an unwrapped toy to the FCCNH office. If you would like to volunteer, please contact the office.

Christmas Tree Lot
In 1982, a dream became a reality, and then the dream became a tradition. Every Christmas, volunteers from the FCCNH family transform the parking lot into a forest of evergreens. Their smell and sounds of carols fill the air.

Our motto has always been "Your Tree is a Gift to a Child", and each year the profits from the sale of the Christmas trees and wreaths are sent to ministries that help kids locally, nationally and around the world.

Come to buy a tree, stay to volunteer and discover the joy of this unique way to celebrate

Christmas... give a gift without going to a mall!

Volunteers are needed to sell trees, cut and stand trees, and to bring food for all the hungry volunteers. Sign up in the church narthex or call the church office.

World Outreach
Our annual World Outreach is supplemented by special outreach giving during the year as follows:
  • Easter
  • Pentecost
  • Reconciliation
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas
  • Week of Compassion
  • Blanket Sundays
  • All gifts and offerings go to parts of the world where help is needed.
