Christian Church Foundation honors FCCNH at General Assembly - July 2011
First Christian Church of North Hollywood, Calif., was named the 2011 recipient of the James P. Johnson Stewardship Award by the Board of Directors of the Christian Church Foundation because of its tremendous support of outreach ministries and financial stewardship. The award was presented during the foundation's banquet at the General Assembly in Nashville July 12, 2011.

"First Christian Church, with an outstanding record of outreach-focused mission, is a worthy recipient of the Johnson Stewardship Award because of its leadership, creativity and integrity in responding to God's call for faithful stewardship," said the Rev. Christian Church Foundation marks 50th Anniversary - July 2011
(Nashville, TN – 7/12/2011) - The Christian Church Foundation celebrated its 50th anniversary Tuesday night, recognizing its growth from about $1,000 in assets in 1961 to a record $438.6 million in 2011. The event was part of the General Assembly of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Nashville, TN.

As part of the festivities, First Christian Church of North Hollywood, CA, was honored with the James P. Johnson Stewardship Award for outstanding local and global outreach and encouragement of members’ financial stewardship. The congregation is one of the denomination’s top givers to the Disciples Mission Fund and has a long history of community-wide outreach ministries.
